Domestic Southern Apron

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is redeveloping and expanding the Domestic Southern Apron (DSA). The $44m project includes the construction of new apron pavement and the addition of new parking bays.

 

The expansion will provide the following benefits:

  • Dual apron taxi lanes – a first for any Australian Airport
  • Increased efficiency for both arriving and departing aircraft
  • Seven additional aircraft parking bays
  • The capacity for airlines to increase scheduled services
  • Extra space for aircraft layover parking

Project Staging

  • January 2014 – work started
  • September 2014 – deliver Aircraft Bays 63 & 64
  • June 2015 – deliver Aircraft bays 53-57 & 60-62

 

Operations Management

  • Workers on-site 9pm to 5am daily to minimise impact to Airport operations
  • Landside & airside roads to remain operational at all times
  • Impact to taxiways are minimised
