FUTURE BNE AUTO MALL LAND DEVELOPMENT (STAGES 1, 2 & 3)

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is investing $85m+ in major earth and civil works as part of the delivery of the planned BNE Auto Mall and Test Track at Brisbane Airport.

 

The BNE Auto Mall vision is to deliver a multi purpose auto retailing hub that sees flagship dealerships sitting alongside exhibition and conference activities, hotels, event area, driver training schools and regional offices around a multi-purpose test track.

 

The first phase of preparatory works involves the clearing, filling and surcharging of 51 hectares of currently unused land between Moreton and Airport Drives, close to both the International and Domestic Terminals.

 

When complete the proposed land development and civil works will deliver:

• A cleared, filled, surcharged and serviced site of 38 hectares of leasable land to be divided into 27 lots

• Fully serviced and landscaped roads providing access and connections to Airport Drive and Nancy Bird Way

• A 2.5km certified professional test track 

 

BAC SOLAR UPGRADE

 

> Timing: October 2017 to December 2018

> Investment: $11 million

> Construction jobs: 40+

 

As part of our commitment to renewable energy, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is investing $11m in a major Solar PV project across six sites on Airport.

 

When complete the innovative project will deliver:

• 19,200 new Solar PV panels, generating 6 Megawatts (MWp) of renewable energy per year

• The largest roof top solar panel installation at an Australian airport (7300 panels over 26,000 square metres at the International Terminal)

• Once fully operational, will account for 18 per cent of BAC’s direct electricity consumption or 6 per cent of the total airport consumption

• Reduced carbon emissions by an estimated 8000 tonne of CO2 per year, equivalent to 750 average households.

AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK

>  Investment: $28 million

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is continuing to develop a new Airport Industrial Park (AIP) between Boronia Road South, Lomandra Drive and the Southern Connector drain.

 

Work on the 25 hectares site began in early September 2015, with the overall project likely to take three to four years. Lots for building development will be ready in stages.

 

Bulk earthworks will see the project team supply and place 700,000 cublic metres of fill, as well as relocate another 300,000m3, taking the overall replacement past 1 million cublic metres.

 

Entry to and exit from the site is via Boronia Road South with this section of road for AUTHORISED VEHICLES ONLY .

 

In the interests of safety, there is NO UNAUTHORISED VEHICLE OR PEDESTRIAN ACCESS with local workers urged to consider NOT using the area for lunchtime walks.

 

The Da Vinci Precinct can still be accessed via Boronia Road North, Da Vinci Boulevard and Leonardo Drive.

COMPLETED: AIRPORT HOTELS SERVICES UPGRADE

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) ihas completed essential services for the Domestic Terminal Building (DTB) precinct and the new $150 Brisbane Airport Hotels and Conference Centre.

 

Located beside the multi-level car park, the hotels and conference centre will be easily accessed from the DTB via infrastructure delivered by BAC.

 

This includes a new travelator linking the hotel complex to car parks, a tiled walkway linking car parks to the Skywalk and DTB, the installation of essential services and the construction of a new roundabout and pedestrian crossing on Dryandra Road.

COMPLETED: CENTRAL PARKING AREAS

Brisbane Airport’s car parking facilities have undergone a $41 million expansion, creating another five thousand bays for passengers and also for staff who work at the airport.

 

A new 13 hectare AIRPARK facility opened in July 2016 off Moreton Drive, with car park space for 2550 vehicles and regular shuttle bus services to both terminals.

 

The new public car park is aimed at giving customers even more choice, and will be an alternative to parking at the terminals.

 

A new staff car park for 2200 vehicles is situated on Bert Hinkler Drive.

 

There are currently 17,000 car parking bays at BNE, part of a $250 million investment in car parks over the last decade.

COMPLETED: NEW CYCLEWAY AND SHARED PATHWAYS

 

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is continuing to deliver new cycle ways and shared pathways across BNE.

 

Our current cycle network covers over 50% of landside roads, with more than $1.5 million invested in cycling infrastructure over the last three years.

 

A new 550 metre cycle path linking Lomandra Drive to Viola Place was completed in November 2015, while work on a new 300 metre shared pathway for cyclists and pedestrians linking BNE Service Station with the International Terminal (ITB) roundabout was delivered in mid-2016.
