Australia’s

best airport

Brisbane has been named Capital City Airport of the Year 2014

in the National Airport Industry Awards. It was just one of

more than a dozen awards the airport received during the year,

which included a top three spot in the world ranking for airports

servicing 20-30 million passengers and a top three ranking in

Australia/Pacific for Best Airport.

Liverpool

to Brisbane

Brisbane Airport Corporation has been a supporter of Brisbane Roar

since the club began but that hasn’t stopped them throwing out a

challenge to their favourite A-League team. Brisbane Airport will put

out its best welcomemat for English Premier League teamLiverpool

Football Club and the thousands of fans who will come to watch

their heroes play a friendly match between the two teams on 17 July.

It will be the first visit to the city by Liverpool’s A-team and

competition for tickets will be fierce. Liverpool CEO Ian Ayre says

the teamhas more than 600,000 fans in Australia and they want

to see as many of them as possible at the game – sure to squeeze

Suncorp Stadium’s capacity of just 52,500.
