PARIS

STYLE

Freelance stylist Elodie Rambaud shares 200 of

her favourite places in

Paris Style Guide

which

includes recommendations for cafés and wine

bars, patisseries and restaurants, as well as cool

hotels, but this is not a traditional tourist guide.

There are sections on textiles, décor, vintage,

nature and botanicals, art and colour and a

bonus section on the Saint-Ouen Flea Market, the

largest antique market in the world. Rambaud

also provides transport tips and maps of key

areas. Published by Murdoch Books, RRP$39.99.

Aspen

still the best

Fads for exotic ski resorts come and go but the mountain that skiers keep

going back to, according to ski holiday specialists Travelplan, is Aspen,

Colorado – even our devalued dollar hasn’t stopped the resort topping its

most popular list, a position it has maintained for years in spite of legions of

Aussies storming the slopes in Japan.

Aspen’s enduring popularity may have something to do with the great

atmosphere of its township, cool new hangouts including the Sky Hotel

(lobby

), access to more than 500 kilometres of ski trails and

a four-mountain pass, not to mention the odd celebrity sighting. But

don’t take our word for it. The Travelplan Ski Expo is on at the Brisbane

Convention and Exhibition Centre, 30 May, 10am to 3pm, with exhibitors

from other US ski resorts, Japan, Canada and more for everything you need

to know before you go for a holiday in the snow. Entry is free but a gold

coin donation to Disabled Wintersport Australia will be welcomed.
