BNE July/August 2015 |

Welcome to your

free BNE magazine,

brought to you by

Brisbane Airport

here’s no doubt that travel broadens

the mind and enriches the soul – it

inspires, informs and often leads to

lifelong friendships beyond boundaries.

You only need to read the stories in this

issue to see how rewarding travel can

be. For example, Aislinn Healy spent a

gap year before university volunteering

(see page 10) and was so impressed with

the experience she thinks it should be

mandatory for every high schoool student.

Designers Pam Easton and Lydia Pearson

have been travelling to India for more than

20 years to work with local craftsmen to

produce the wonderful textiles that have

become the signature of their brand (see

page 12) and they find inspiration on all

their travels for business and pleasure in

the museums, galleries and the streets of

the cities they visit.

Even a short break can be enough to

revitalise body and mind. For example,

South East Queensland’s Granite Belt

celebrates Christmas in winter (see page

24) to bring friends and family together

over hearty dinners, in cosy cottage-style

accommodation and with an assortment of

family-friendly activities ... think about it ...
