Parking At Brisbane Airport - Disabled Access

Brisbane Airport Corporation aims to provide facilities that are accessible by all members of the community, including people with disabilities.

This commitment is achieved, in part, by incorporating the requirements of Building Code of Australia regulations and applicable Australian Standards into the Airport Building Approval process. In addition, access consultants are engaged for major terminal upgrade projects to ensure inclusive access is provided in and around terminal buildings and car parks. BAC also works closely with representative groups to ensure that Airport developments meet the needs and expectations of all travellers.

Although most airlines are able to assist passengers to and from their aircraft and through the border agencies process, it is important that passengers advise their airline in advance if any assistance is required.

This proactive, collaborative approach to meeting the needs of people with disabilities helps to ensure an inclusive and accessible environment is provided for all visitors to Brisbane Airport.

Some of the facilities provided by BAC at both terminals include:

  • Wide lifts operating between all floors.
  • Ramp walkways and aerobridges to access aircraft.
  • Luggage Trolleys available on Arrivals Level 2 and Departures Level 4 of the International Terminal and on the right hand side of the passenger pick up/set down road at the Domestic Terminal.

International Terminal:

  • Wheelchair set downs on Departures Level 4 and Arrivals Level 2.
  • Designated space in public car parks.
  • Access to the Bus Parking Area via a ramp from Arrivals Level 2.
  • Shops, dining areas and airline facilities designed for people with special needs.
  • All blue and red disability permits are accepted and must be displayed on the vehicle at all times.

(Vehicles must not be left unattended at any time due to the current security measures of the International Terminal)

Domestic Terminal:

  • Disabled bays are available on the passenger pick up and set down road either side of both the Qantas and Virgin Blue pedestrian crossings.
  • All designated bays are clearly marked and signed on the left hand side of the road.
  • 4 bays are available at both the Qantas and Virgin Blue end of this road. (8 bays in total)
  • Wheelchair ramps available at all bays.
  • Contact your airline for assistance and wheelchairs.
  • All blue and red disability permits are accepted and must be displayed on the vehicle at all times.
  • Carers are able to leave their vehicle on the passenger road unattended for twenty (20) minutes whilst assisting their passenger into/out of the terminal. A current permit must be displayed in the vehicle.
  • Designated disabled bays are also available in the open-air and multi-level car parks.
