Originally from Mexico, chocolate has made an impact in every part of the globe, so it’s only fair to associate chocolate with traveling. You may find the correlation quite farfetched, but I had to find an excuse to sample the delicious chocolate options available at the airport to write this article celebrating World Chocolate Day (#InvestigativeJournalism).
Besides, you know what they say right? Once you’re at the airport, your holiday has begun, therefore calories don’t count!
So after sacrificing myself in the name of research, here is a list of the best 5 chocolate treats currently available at Brisbane Airport.
1. Never-ending supply at New Farm Confectionery
Step into a wonderful store filled with stories and memories, let the smell of cacao transport you into another dimension. Succumb to the temptation and sample the best Parisian inspired chocolate and confectionery that has been handcrafted with love in the heart of Brisbane at New Farm Confectionery, located near Gate 25 (after security). With more options than you can find in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory*, this is a definite must-do pit stop for all chocolate lovers.
2. Liquid Gold at Newstead Brewing Co & The Aviary
If you’re not after chocolate in its solid form, treat yourself to a delicious milkshake from the recently opened Newstead Brewing Co, located near Gate 38 (after security), or even go above and beyond and go for a decadent chocolate thick shake from The Aviary, which is near Gate 23 (after security). Brain freeze incoming!
3. Krispy Kreme
Chocolate doughnuts are better consumed by the dozen! So grab one, or multiple, next time you’re near Krispy Kreme near Gate 25 (after security).
4. All you can eat at [email protected] & [email protected]
If you haven’t been able to make up your mind by now, simply pop by any of the [email protected] or [email protected] stores -there are 9 in total located throughout the terminal so you will definitely find yourself near one, no matter your gate. Head to their snacks section and go crazy, as they each offer a wide variety of chocolate snacks, from Mars bars to chocolate lollies and Cadbury chocolate blocks, and everything else in between.
5. Chocolate for your skin at Mecca Maxima
Although this last one is a little unconventional and cannot be consumed as you would imagine, chocolate is also a good look for your skin. With the latest Chocolate Palette from Too Faced, now available at Mecca, treat yourself to some new makeup for your trip. Mecca Maxima is located near Gate 38 (after security).
