Brisbane Airport welcomes passengers travelling with an accredited assistance dog. You’ll need to advise your airline if you are travelling with an assistance animal when you book your flight.
In this video frequent flyer Tim McCullum prepares for a flight from Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal with assistance dog Casper, showing the process and sharing tips for a smooth departure.
Brisbane Airport works closely with services like Assistance Dogs Australia to support safe and easy travels from arrival at the airport through to boarding the plane.
Assistance animals are also subject to security screening. Screening will involve a physical search of the assistance animal, including their lead, collar, harness or vest. Any items that can easily be removed may be screened using x-ray equipment.
Special toilet and watering facilities for assistance animals can be found in both the International and Domestic Terminals.
Find the facilities:
- Domestic Terminal - Level 2, Central Terminal area (near Gate 25)
- International Terminal - Level 3, Departures area (after Passport Control)
