How we travel has changed. We’ve been planning ahead to welcome you back to Brisbane Airport by implementing our COVID Safe plan and monitoring our new safety measures to ensure the airport is a safe place for everyone to be.
Here’s what you can do to stay healthy while travelling and what to expect at the Domestic Terminal at Brisbane Airport.
Before you travel there are some things that you can do to ensure that you travel well and safe.
Wear a mask in the airport
You must wear a mask in the airport at all times except for children under 12 or if you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask as advised by the Australian Government.
In the car park
Driving your own car to the airport is the safest way to arrive and depart. Book your parking at the terminals online in advance for our cheapest prices ever with free cancellation if your travel plans change. Our car parks are secure and cleaned regularly.
If you have booked your parking online, the way you enter the car park has changed. Instructions would have been sent to you by email or text. Please scan the QR code on your booking at the boom gate when you enter the car park.
Dropped off at the terminal
You are able to be dropped off at the terminal by a private transport option like Uber, taxi or car hire.
Family and Friends
People who are not travelling can currently enter the terminals to see you off before your flight. Please follow all COVID-safe practices.
At check in
Go contactless where possible and use your airline’s online check in options and download your boarding pass to your phone. At check in, screens have been installed at the counters, social distancing reminders have been added to queueing areas and increased cleaning of touch points have been implemented.
At the screening points
Feel free to use your own wipes to clean down the screening trays before you use them however, they are also frequently cleaned. The screening officers also regularly change their gloves, and use hand sanitiser between pat downs. Guards will also change their gloves between pat downs on request.
In the food courts
Social distancing requirements and increased cleaning regimes have been implemented in our food court and restaurant areas. Most of our eateries are open for takeaway options only, however some are operating at reduced hours. Take a look at what’s open at the Domestic Terminal here.
In the stores
Some of our retail stores remain closed due to the reduction in passengers but there are a few specialty stores operating at reduced hours if you need to pick something up or treat yourself before you fly. Browse what stores will be open during your time in the terminal here.
At the gate
Before you board, you’ll find sanitiser stations and anti-bacterial wipes along with reminders to keep up the social distancing. Your airline may also provide hygiene packs for you to use (please check with your airline) and you are welcome to pack your own to take onboard.
Enjoy your flight.
