Brisbane Airport’s International Terminal will become the first home for Escape Lounges in Australia, scheduled for opening in late 2024. This new location will not only be a first for the country, but also for the southern hemisphere, joining the existing award-winning lounge network across the UK and US.
Located on the terminal’s mezzanine level, this lounge will follow suit of the whole Escape Lounges network. A dedicated space away from the hustle and bustle of the airport terminal, its design will take inspiration from the South East Queensland region.
Escape Lounges are more than just a space away from the main terminal, but a unique and tasteful representation of the local area.
For example, references to canopy shade structures found in the Brisbane and Queensland architectural vernacular will define the lounge’s seating zones, while an elegant colour and material palette will sit comfortably with Australian contemporary artists’ works.
Freshly prepared, locally inspired seasonal dishes crafted by our in-house chefs set the Escape Lounges experience apart. Guests can enjoy hot or cold options alongside a curated selection of wines, beers, spirits, and barista-made coffee - perfect for any craving, any time of day. Elevated customer service will also ensure all guests enjoy an ‘Escape to Remember’. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed warmly at the lounge’s reception, before being invited to relax and unwind overlooking the sweeping views of the runway.
CAVU, parent company of Escape Lounges, is already partnered with Brisbane Airport, deploying its pre-booking services for its car parking offering.
Nolan Hough, Chief Growth Officer at CAVU said, “We are thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Brisbane Airport with the opening of our first Escape Lounge in Australia. Having worked closely over the past five years by providing pre-booking services for Brisbane’s extensive car parking offering, we are looking forward to providing a world class passenger experience, as-well as digitally enabling pre-bookings through CAVU’s pre-book platform, propel”.
“Brisbane Airport is looking forward to the opening of the first Escape Lounge in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. The International Terminal is currently undergoing upgrades as part of the AU$5 billion Future BNE transformation, making our gateway to Queensland and Australia an even greater place for passengers,” said Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO at Brisbane Airport.
The Escape Lounge will be open for all travellers regardless of airline, ticket class or card in hand. A lounge visit can also be guaranteed by pre-booking in advance, online at escapelounges.com.
