Gert-Jan de Graaff | Chief Executive Officer
Gert-Jan de Graaff was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Ltd in June 2018.
Current Board appointments include the position of Director on the Airports Council International Asia-Pacific Regional Board in April 2020 and Director on the Australian Airports Association Board in December 2020.
Gert-Jan has more than 20 years’ experience in leadership roles at major airports around the world. He started his career in airport management in 1995 with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in The Netherlands where he had a number of roles. These included management positions in the commercial, finance and strategic departments.
In 2005 Gert-Jan de Graaff was appointed as Managing Director of ASDC AB, the Company that manages and develops the commercial activities in the terminals of Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in Sweden.
Between 2007 and 2012 Gert-Jan held senior executive roles with Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Ltd, including General Manager Commercial Services and General Manager Strategic Planning & Development.
Prior to his return to Brisbane Airport in 2018 Gert-Jan lead the bid for Galeão / Rio de Janeiro Airport in Brazil on behalf of Royal Schiphol Group and his most recent position was President & CEO of JFKIAT LLC, the private operators of Terminal 4 at John F Kennedy International Airport since 2014.
Previous Board appointments include the position of Chairman of Airport Coordination Netherlands, and Board Memberships with Airports Council International North America (WBP), Air Cargo Netherlands, Cargonaut BV, and several tourism attraction agencies.
Rachel Crowley BA, MAICD | Executive General Manager Communications & Public Affairs
Rachel joined BAC in late 2011 and is responsible for managing BAC’s external and internal communications, brand, and community and government relations.
Rachel has thirty years’ experience in media, government and communications across all levels of government and the private sector. Prior to joining BAC she spent more than a decade in executive and senior management positions with Tourism Australia, including seven years running its marketing communications activities for the Americas and heading up its global corporate communications function. Prior to that Rachel was a senior State Ministerial Advisor and before that held a variety of roles in journalism, marketing and public relations consultancy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Journalism and Government from the University of Queensland.
Rachel is Chair of the Board of Queensland’s Institute of Modern Art (IMA), Deputy Chair of the Board of Queensland Theatre, President of the Corporate Affairs Council of the Queensland Futures Institute and a member of the Corporate Advisory Board for the Courier Mail Children’s Fund.
Jane Dionysius B.Bus Mgmt HR | Executive General Manager Human Resources
Jane joined BAC in January 2011, after holding a variety of management roles within BAC, Jane is now responsible for leading BAC’s human resource function, which covers payroll, learning and development, performance management, recruitment and culture.
Jane has over 13 years' experience in human resources, specialising in the areas of performance and leadership development. Before commencing with BAC, Jane was a Consultant, where she delivered a range of services across both the public and private sector.
Jane is the Secretary of a not for profit charity focusing on raising awareness of skin cancer in Australia. Jane holds a Bachelor of Business Management majoring in Human Resources from the University of Queensland.
David Malek BBus, MBA, MAppFin, FCPA, GAICD | Chief Financial Officer
David joined BAC as Treasurer in late 2013 and is currently the Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for corporate finance, treasury, tax, procurement and financial performance, systems and control and technology.
Previous to his role at BAC, David worked for a listed energy producer and distributor, Energy Developments, as the Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury. He also worked in investment banking focusing on M&A and corporate finance advisory in infrastructure, energy and property sectors across Australia and Europe.
David is a member of the Economics and Finance Committee Council of the Queensland Futures Institute (QFI), a non-executive Director of Financial Executives Institute (FEI) of Australia, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and a fellow of CPA Australia.
David holds a Business degree from the University of Maine, USA, an MBA from the Brisbane Graduate School of Business and a Masters of Applied Finance from Queensland University of Technology.
Raechel Paris BA/LLB, GAICD | Executive General Manager Governance
Raechel commenced with BAC in May 2019, leading a multi-disciplinary team that fosters BAC’s licence to operate and grow, including Risk and Governance, Security & Emergency Planning, Workplace Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability, Legal Services, and Corporate Secretariat.
With more than 20 years’ experience in legal, commercial and governance roles, with national and international accountability, she brings a wealth of corporate governance knowledge to the business.
Immediately prior to joining BAC, Raechel was the General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Governance for the world’s largest bulk export port, Pilbara Ports Authority.
From 2011 to 2016, Raechel was also the Company Secretary for the Port Authority.
Raechel has held a number of board appointments and is currently the Chair of the Cycling Development Foundation.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts / Law from Monash University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Martin Ryan BBus | Executive General Manager Commercial
Martin joined BAC in 2011 and, after holding several management roles within BAC including Head of Parking and Transport Services, is now responsible for leading and managing the Commericial Group with a focus on the development and effective implementation of BAC’s consumers strategy to ensure revenue growth objectives from its retail and parking and transport operations, as well as property management and major property development projects.
With more than 20 years’ experience in various senior sales positions, Martin has proven expertise in strategic planning and execution, new product development, operational and project management, and the development and implementation of corporate strategies.
Since 2015, Martin has been a Director of Parking Australia, taking added responsibility as the Finance and Governance lead and a member of the Events and Innovation Committees.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is a graduate of the Institute of Strategic Leadership.
Krishan Tangri MBA, MCons Mgmt, GAICD | Executive General Manager Infrastructure & Planning
Krishan joined BAC in 2010 and is responsible for overseeing multibillion-dollar asset, infrastructure and construction portfolios.
Krishan is an industry recognised Executive Leader with more than 25 years’ experience in infrastructure, facilities and construction management with well recognised private and public organisations.
In 2015, he was a Finalist for CEO Magazine’s Construction Executive of the Year.
Krishan has previously held various senior management positions in both facilities and construction management with Sydney Airport Corporation and Brisbane City Council managing multibillion dollar asset portfolios and delivering a $800M suite of complex and high profile projects successfully.
Since 2010, Krishan has provided strategic foresight to BAC and continues to lead a commercially oriented, highly qualified, and efficient business unit which delivered the $1.1b new runway project on time and under budget.
Krishan is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds an MBA with a finance major from Deakin University. A qualified Civil Engineer, Krishan also holds a Masters in Construction Management from the University of New South Wales.
