Progressive installation has commenced on our Aerobridge Replacement Program that will deliver new, state-of-the-art aerobridges across both Terminals by 2029.
A total of 20 aerobridges will be rolled out in stages to ensure airport operations continue efficiently and will improve safety, boost reliability and better connect with a wider range of modern aircraft.
The passenger experience will be upgraded with improved accessibility, reducing the need for stairs and an all-weather option.
- Our new aerobridges are manufactured in New Zealand and undergo quality assurance and factory acceptance testing before delivery to Brisbane.
- Each aerobridge takes a few months to remove existing gate infrastructure, install, test and commission before returning to operations.
- Work is being undertaken in stages to minimise disruptions to airport operations.
- Installation commenced at Gate 77, International Terminal in early 2026 and will progressively roll out across both Terminals through to 2029.
Our construction project team brings together Brisbane Airport, managing contractor Built, and aerobridge supplier Airport Equipment Limited to deliver the Aerobridge Replacement Program. Together, the team is progressing a long-term replacement program across both terminals, with delivery continuing through to 2029.
