Overview
By 2027, it is expected that more than 70% of airside ground support equipment will be electric. Brisbane Airport is supporting this change to electrification with 45 common-use charging stations already installed and in operation. These chargers power a range of equipment used to service aircraft, in baggage handling and ground operations.
Construction timeline
Planning is currently underway to expand the existing network to more than 80 charging stations in the next phase.
Future phases are planned to grow to 100+ electric chargers, reflecting the airport's commitment to sustainability and to support more efficient airside operations.
