Our Domestic Terminal baggage system is being completed re-built with world-class technology, belts and screening equipment. The baggage upgrades require nearly 100 separate phases to ensure we impact passengers and operations as little as possible.
Overview
One of the biggest improvements being made during the Domestic Terminal Security Upgrade project is behind the scenes in the baggage system. This new, world-class baggage system will centralise checked baggage operations across the entire Domestic Terminal to replace the three separate baggage systems originally installed in the 1980's and includes the Australian Government mandated upgrade of the baggage screening equipment.
Construction update
Right now, our baggage operations and handling systems are undergoing a massive overhaul to ensure more travellers are processed so much easier with enhanced security and reliability.
